We are thrilled to announce that our Managing Director, Sarah Poole, has recently been accepted as a member of the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA).
This appointment reflects Sarah’s esteemed reputation in the field of intellectual property law, further strengthening our firm’s presence and influence within the rapidly growing IP landscape of the Asia-Pacific region.
The APAA: Asian Patent Attorneys Association
Established in 1969, the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA) is a leading non-governmental organisation dedicated to advancing intellectual property protection and practice across Asia and the Pacific. The association brings together a robust network of patent and trademark attorneys, IP lawyers, and experts from more than 20 jurisdictions, including Australia, China, India, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and the Philippines.
APAA provides a highly respected forum for IP professionals, fostering collaboration and the exchange of knowledge on pressing issues in intellectual property law. Through conferences, working groups, and advocacy initiatives, the association plays a crucial role in shaping IP policies and ensuring strong protection mechanisms for businesses and innovators across the region. APAA’s engagement with organizations such as World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), ASEAN IP offices, and local governments enables it to influence IP frameworks and contribute to legislative improvements in various countries.
Sarah’s involvement with APAA positions her among the leading IP practitioners in the Asia-Pacific region, allowing her to participate in discussions on emerging trends, legal developments, and best practices in IP law. Her membership will also enable her to build stronger international collaborations, expand our firm’s connections, and contribute meaningfully to the continued advancement of IP protection in the region.
With her appointment, Sarah is set to attend the General Assembly & Council Meetings of the Asian Patent Attorneys Association 2025 (APAA 2025) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This key event gathers leading IP professionals from across the Asia-Pacific region to discuss legal developments, policy advocacy, and best practices in intellectual property. The APAA 2025 serves as a platform for fostering international cooperation, shaping regional IP policies, and strengthening professional networks.
We look forward to Sarah’s active participation in APAA and the many opportunities it will bring for our firm, our clients, and the broader intellectual property community.
